July 4th!
We had a great day yesterday for July 4th! We had regular activities in the morning and into the afternoon, but then we had a camper vs. counselor softball game (I refuse to disclose the winner of that contest to protect the innocent). The odds were against the staff, given that there were approximately 75 fielders. We all enjoyed some live music during the game, which was great. After the game, we had a traditional barbeque with burgers, dogs, salads, napkins (which were quite tasty), etc. From there, we went straight into a carnival on the deck – games, face painting, water tossing, etc., etc. Lots of fun. Finally, at around 9:00 p.m., we all went down to the waterfront and sat in the grassy area to watch a fantastic fireworks display put on by our staff led by Tom Johnston. It was amazing – seriously. No seriously. I hope to be able to post some pictures of the festivities in the next day or so. Today is July 5, and it is another beautiful day. Happy birthday, America (yesterday, I mean).
