Dress Code

Windsor Mountain does not have uniforms. We require that campers dress appropriately for camp activities. Clothing which display profanity, products, or slogans which promote tobacco, alcohol, drugs, sex or are in any other way distracting, are contrary to our camp values and prohibited. In addition, clothing must be appropriate for camp activities, such as longer shorts for the ropes course and closed-toe shoes for sports. Swim attire cannot be worn outside of the waterfront. Campers who wear clothing that we deem in violation of this policy will be asked to change.

Sleeping Bag or Blanket?

We recommend that campers bring a sleeping bag in lieu of blankets for sleeping. They are needed for camping trips and overnight adventures and are easier to straighten in the morning than blankets. We suggest that you also bring two fitted twin size bed sheets to put over the plastic mattress cover, and that in the interests of comfort and hygiene, you pack a washable sleeping-bag liner.

General Note

Our packing list is a reflection of the typical needs of the “average” camper. However, we realize that it may not meet the needs of all campers. For example, if a camper is particularly interested in a specific activity (tennis, swimming, wilderness, dance, etc.), we recommend that parents pack accordingly. If your child plans to sign up for as many wilderness trips as possible, it may be worth investing in some good hiking shoes and eager swimmers may need extra towels, etc. Please feel free to personalize the list to suit the needs of your camper.

Medication

Prescription medications must be in their original packaging and delivered to nurse upon arrival at camp (or to the bus or airport chaperone). Camp has non-prescription medication, but if you choose to send these with your camper, they also must be provided to nurse upon arrival (or to the bus or airport chaperone).

Valuables

Please do not bring valuables, expensive clothing, jewelry or irreplaceable keepsakes unless you are prepared to lose them.

Electronics

Cellular phones, video games, Kindles, iPods, iPhones, iTouches, smart watches and other electronic devices that connect to the internet are not welcome at camp. Campers may bring mp3 players (or other music players that do not connect to the internet) with headphones to use in their bunk during rest hour, fun hour or bedtime.

We respectfully request that parents partner with us and support the technology-free feel of Windsor Mountain. Summer camp is one of the last places on earth where children can connect with nature and escape technology, and we hope you will support us in keeping Windsor Mountain technology-free. If your child is flying to camp and carrying a cell phone, please let us know and we can store the phone in our office until the end of the session.

Other Prohibited Items

Please note that the following items are prohibited at camp: weapons, alcohol, drugs, vehicles, and household pets (sorry Fido).
