Opening Day (Redux)!
And we’re off! The staff could not wait for the August campers to join them in the Bubble of Windsor Mountain. And, the campers brought with them the same enthusiasm for being here as we have for their arrival. Camp is a bit quiet now as everyone has returned to their living units. We had a great day. We had a delicious pasta dinner tonight, followed by program planning, where the campers were able to choose their activities for the first three days of classes. Then, we had a short campfire to welcome everyone to Windsor Mountain, and then all the campers returned to their bunks to get to know each other before going to bed.
We love opening day. We love to see returning campers. We love seeing how they have grown and changed over the past year. We love to see new faces. We love to see the early buds of new friendships that we know will blossom during the summer. We love to see the reunions among friends from years past. Opening day has all of those things – it is full of smiles, hugs and love. And, of course, there are nerves for those joining us for the first time and those a bit nervous about for one reason or another. Don’t worry, we’ll take really good care of your children – whether with us for the sixth summer or for the first day. We cannot wait to help create an incredibly memorable summer camp experience for each and every camper here. Good night!
