Technology at Camp
If you are like most parents, you have a love/hate relationship with technology and your children. There is a massive convenience factor for us parents, and our kids are able to connect with friends and peers in important ways.
However, I’m sure you can relate to feeling like it is all a bit too much at times and screens are way too big a part of all of our lives.Well, I have great news for you – screens (phones, Kindles, iPads, smart watches and the like) are not welcome at Windsor Mountain Summer Camp. This is one of our favorite things about camp. It is literally one of the last places on Earth where kids are not exposed to screens.
This is one of many reasons why summer camp can have such a positive impact on the lives of our campers. Camp teaches children how to connect in healthy ways in real life, which has untold benefits for health and well-being.
With a break from technology, campers flourish connecting with peers face-to-face. They enjoy nature and the outdoors, which has a tremendously positive impact on physical and mental well-being.
