Session II Begins!
We are off to a great start for Session II! The weather held out just fine, and it turned out to be a mostly beautiful sunny day. Campers arrived by bus, train, airplane and car from far and wide to experience the wonder of a summer at Windsor Mountain. We gathered together at around 5:00 this afternoon and had some fun together with “Simon Says” (an all-time record, I got almost every camper out with two commands – legendary), a song, and introductions of staff who performed a little “number” and then were subjected to an impromptu game of charades where they had to act out the object chosen by the crowd (a llama eating a banana, for example). As always, we brought it strong and tasty for our first dinner – pasta, veggies, fresh baked bread, and cheesecake. We then had a great campfire in the cabin meadow on a perfectly chill and relaxed evening.
I am always impressed with how well Session II campers tend to adjust to life at camp in such a short period of time. Even in the short time the campers have been here, I saw friendships being formed and people smiling and laughing everywhere I went. We are excited to begin this session with everyone and look forward to forming lasting memories together.
