Farewell Mini-Session 1, Welcome Mini-Session 1B!
Farewell to our Mini-Session 1 Campers! We had a nice Sunday Morning Meeting and Brunch for their final morning at WMI this summer. We are thrilled to now welcome our Mini-Session 1B campers and have an incredible end to Session 1!
Highlights from the Week!
- Hotrodicus Supersonicus is easily the most notorious evening activity at Windsor Mountain. Our interrupts and threatens to take over the camp — the way to save it: campers must work together to free their counselors and LITs (Leaders in Training) who have been turned into his army of ‘gargoyles.’
- Camp Dance #1 to send off our mini-session campers! (We have another one led by the LITs this week).
- Renaissance Faire.
YouTube Videos are Live!
We are uploading weekly videos to our YouTube channel along with fun stuff and footage from video classes!
Trips, Trips, Trips!
Our Leaders In Training (LITs) went off for their camping trip to the White Mountains! They stayed in the Dartmouth Outing Club Class of ’66 Cabin. This is an enthusiastic group, with a terrific team of six staff members. They spent three days hiking, swimming, cooking and team-building.
Wilderness Trips are a hit! The campers had a great time. They went on a scenic hike that lead to an AMC Hut (Lonesome Lake) overlooking the lake, camped in the White Mountains and enjoyed a canoe trip down the Saco River. On the way back to camp, they stopped at a local spot near camp and got some ice cream. It was a fun trip.
A Look Back at our Menu!
In addition to all the incredible food the kitchen is serving we always have a cereal and yogurt bar plus a toasting station in the morning. For lunch and dinner, we always have a full salad bar and sun butter/jelly station.
Campers of the Day
Every day at morning meeting, a camper of the day is recognized by another camper in the community by passing on a necklace. Sam K, had the necklace first and then it was passed on in the following order:
- Naoki G
- Ayden P
- Lucas I
- Olivia I
- Ellie S
- Juliette B
They wear the necklace all day and then pass it on at the next morning meeting!
Upcoming this week at WMI
We are geared up for exciting week 3 with the campers. Here are some fun things on the way:
- The 8th Grade Rafting Trip!
- Friday Night Lights Gatorball (which is a mix of every sport)
- Capture the Flag
- Campfire
- LIT Dance
Windsor Mountain is the highest-rated private, co-ed overnight summer camp in New Hampshire. (campratingz.com)
