Happy 250th America!
The 4th of July at Windsor Mountain was a blast! We started the day with red, white, and blue pancakes, followed by a morning meeting about how the 4th of July was almost taken by aliens (yes, the movie — we checked). At lunch, campers enjoyed diner-style food with their bunk. Evening activity was a massive carnival with booths to explore, and we ended the night with an incredible fireworks show and a camper-led band.
Highlights from the First Week!
We had a great first week at camp! We began our first rotations of free-choice classes and took care of ourselves during the heat with lots of lake time, gatorade and shade breaks. Some of our evening activities included:
- Capture the Flag
- Campfire
- Choose Your Own Adventure Night
- International Day!

A Look Back at our Menu!
In addition to all the incredible food the kitchen is serving we always have a cereal and yogurt bar plus a toasting station in the morning. For lunch and dinner, we always have a full salad bar and sun butter/jelly station.
Campers of the Day
Every day at morning meeting, a camper of the day is recognized by another camper in the community by passing on a necklace. Roscoe E-K, a Leader-in-Training, got the necklace first and then it was passed on in the following order:
- Henry S
- Fabian D
- Aiden U
- Nick H
- Sam K
They wear the necklace all day and then pass it on at the next morning meeting!
Upcoming this week at WMI
We are geared up for exciting week 2 with the campers. Here are some fun things on the way:
- The Leaders in Training (LITs) are leaving on their 3-day trip to bond and work on leadership skills.
- Renaissance Faire
- Camp Dance
